The Artwork of Andrew Fish

© 2010 Andrew Fish

Andrew Fish grew up in a Vermont print shop and received his formal training in New York City as an artist assistant and art gallery employee. Fish was an art handler and administrative assistant at various alternative and commercial art galleries throughout the 1990’s. He attended School of Visual Arts and worked as a Resident Assistant at the Governor’s Institute on the Arts in VT.

Fish studied under artists Marilyn Minter, Don Eddy, and the late Jack Potter while attending SVA and was artist assistant to Clarissa Sligh. He was also highly influenced by his friendships with painter David X Young and photographer Rudy Burckhardt before they passed away in the early 2000’s.

As a member of the Joy Street artists community in Somerville MA, Fish participates in Open Studios twice a year. He is also involved with the Boston Puppeteers Cooperative, building and parading puppets for Boston’s First Night.

Fish exhibits and sells work regularly in the Boston and New York areas. He is also an education technology specialist and a musician.
